A 30-acre entertainment development at the Circuit of the Americas, the only purpose-built Formula One circuit in the United States.
COTALAND is a 30-acre theme park built inside an operating Formula One circuit. Featuring 34 attractions between Turn 19 and Turn 20 at the Circuit of the Americas, it serves as the initial major addition in the venue's development into a year-round sports and entertainment destination.
Given the unusual shape of the property, the park is arranged along a single linear path extending from the Grand Plaza to the north to the Main Grandstand to the south. This serves two purposes: it allows a series of themed zones and plazas to emerge sequentially, and it maintains a required circulation path through the park during major motorsport events. Each plaza is anchored by a central element — a carousel, a garden fountain, or a major roller coaster — with supporting concessions, entertainment pop-ups, seating areas, and additional rides. Beyond the rides, dining, retail, and support facilities bring the total to 70 designed components serving guest experience and operations, ranging from a 160-square-foot kiosk to a 52,000-square-foot Formula One venue.
The park is designed and themed with homages to the racetrack, Austin's lore and character, and artifacts of amusement park history. Given the climate, ample shade is incorporated along all queue lines and pathways. With an emphasis on maximizing the use of the land, every sight line, turn, and landing point is filled with amusement — guests can enjoy a churro, do the chicken dance, or bask in the light of vintage neon signs. It's packed with the fun, the friendly, and the weird — a theme park that only Austin could deliver.
